Background and General Information

  1. Dark Sky Missouri: This is the home page of the Missouri chapter of Dark Sky International.

  2. Dark Sky International: This is the home page of the International Dark Sky Association. This webpage, albeit a bit busy, contains a wealth of information that might be useful to you. Please take the time to browse through the different sections — “Resources” and “Lighting” menus are particularly useful.

Specific and slightly more Technical Information

  1. Flagstaff Dark Skies: This is one of the most useful websites you will find about dark skies. Please check out the ‘solutions‘ option on the menu to the left — it has a wealth of technical information about light and how “red light is better than blue light”. In particular, lights with CCT close to 2000K are to be preferred over lights with CCT about 3000K.

  2. Colorado Dark Skies: This is also a very useful webpage. In particular the “Dark Sky Toolkit” has a wealth of information and resources about what to do as an individual, starting your dark skies group, and dark sky advocacy.
